update for those interested, redone my headling last weekend, using faux suede from www.fabric-online.co.uk , nice and thin and managable, used wickes contact adhesive as recommended before on her and done a lil bit at a time, pretty pleased with the results the front edge isnt perfect kept ending up with loads of slack in the middle. pic of about how i stuck each time and a pic of it in the car

also if you trimming your headling black you prob want black interior trim aswel, i painted mine satin black from halford and was a very good match, although today i painted a lower glove box i bought black with this stuff and the match is as good as perfect and feels a bit tougher so thats probaly the better stuff to go for.
hopefully this'll be help to the people considering doing this as i couldnt find that much info about it on this forum
