I've Returned To The Fold...
« on: 25 May 2011, 23:17 »
Hi All...

Just to Hi...
I've returned to the fold after been away for 2yrs...
I had a mk5 Golf GTI which I traded in for an Audi A4 TFSI Quattro 2 years ago, but that didn't last long before I returned it to Audi because of what I saw as a faulty S Tronic gear box.
I then got into a Audi A5 TDI Quattro which I had up until today. Great car but not so practical been a 2 door and 4 seater. Whilst It was at the Audi dealer last week I took a walk down to the VW garage.
Where I saw the car I have now and loved it... At first they were a million miles away to change but I left them to think about it and the turn up trumps....
I'm now the proud owner of a VW Golf GTD DSG 5 Door in white, it has 18" Charleston Shadow wheels, RCD 510 6 disc touch screen radio with DAB and bluetooth, Park Assist incl front n rear sensors, full leather with winter pack.
I've bought some rubber mats front and back and rubber mud flaps front and back as well as a boot liner. black (trade mark) fury dice, stainless steel /carbon tax disc holder and I've fitted my 160GB iPod classic...

Welcome Martin

Looks a very nice car (for a diseasal)  just joking.  I like the wheels very much, are they polished like the Monza Shadows?

Hope you are both very happy together and that she lasts longer than the Audi.

Welcome back to the world of Golfs Martin.

I've never really got the idea of A5's, why have a bloody great big long car and only have two doors? I mean if you need a two door car 'cos you don't have kids or old ladies to ferry about, why not either buy a small car or a sports car (or both)? And if you're fat and middle aged and want to appear to be successful then you buy a big 4 door saloon car to show off down the Golf club with.
A5's do look quite nice though, I had a quick look at one in the Audi dealer the other day, an S5 or something. Then I had a look at an A1 because I've never seen one before (nice black S Line car) and then I made a bee line for the R8. I like R8's. It wouldn't fit in my piddly garage even if I could have afforded one!

I digress.

Your GTD looks to be rather fine example.

In fact I'd go so far as to say I want to marry your Charleston Shadows.....

Your GTD looks a very nice indeed.

I'm loving the the wheels (give em a quick polish and whack loads of wheel wax on them).

The wheels really go well on a CW..

I am awaiting a similiar spec GTD in Tornado Red.  Due August.  Is the aerial for the bluetooth now in the rear screen as opposed to the roof fin aerial?
