i believe it should be -> foot down on pedal / undo nipple / close nipple / release pedal and so on :)

ive got same prob as yours and mine is an anniversary aswel lol. but mine is the 8v. going to get a new cable. but funny thing is mine dont jump like that when in gear trying to start it.  :undecided:
