basically what happend,

i was driving to bham from london it was fine drove back it was fine as soon as i got to my area it was stuck on 1500 and i fort i clean everthing but i made it worser like now it reving n under reving :O

Check your vacuum pipes.

And also check the pipes to the servo..

mines been doing this for a while so i know your frustration!

mine got worse when i cleaned throttle body and isv and idles at about 1600-1800 when fully warmed up. i must have an air leak somewhere and as i've only removed the tb and isv it must be somewhere on one of those. Buggered if i can find it though  :angry:

Doublecheck the pipe from the TB to the brake servo, there is a one-way vavle and they rot out. Also check your butterflys are not sticking open/loose, especially the little one.

The one in the video seems to be a stepper motor problem, but golfs don't have these. :rolleyes:
