Crosshair headlights
« on: 10 May 2011, 11:57 »
Looking at getting some crosshair headlights for my mk2 gti. I have seen quite a few that are left hand drive fitment but they all state that they can be switched to right hand drive by adjusting them.

New to the mk2s as I have worked my way down from the mk4 to mk3 and now mk2  so any help would be appreciated. Also how much do a good set of these cost?

£50 or there abouts, and as for easily swapping them over? Are they balls, those clips are pretty much impossible to get out!

Not sure if Big boys toys sell rhd ones, if they do they will be a little more than £50 as apparently it takes £10-£20 worth of effort to put the clips in the other way round in the factory

Get a set of genuine Hella lights from GSF for £30.00 each and use some sticky backed plastic trim tape to make 'em cross hairs.... at least the hella ones will add value rather than ruin the car!!

Ha

I'd be very cautious of aftermarket & pattern headlamps. I.E. Hella lamps (OE) have a great light pattern. However from personal experience, the Lucas ones have a very poor beam pattern, and the alloy bulb seat snaps off where the spring clip locates, rendering them useless!

Stick to genuine, and with an uprated headlamp loom you'll be laughing

I don't think a semi will give the same results
