So, fitted the said wing today, and it has to be said that fitment is superb, probably due to the closing panel at the rear of the wing now being positioned in the correct place (See my first post for explanation) the important thing is that the wing can be fitted without having to force anything into submission, the panel itself though will require plenty of work to get perfectly straight, and ripple free, but thats a different story

This first pic shows the upper swage line close to where the flasher repeater fits, note how the swage has lost its definiton, compared to the swage on the door, this is due to worn out tooling in the factory, god knows how many millions of these things were stamped out!

2nd pic shows the wing fitted (not permanently) and an even gap top to bottom, top swage lines up nicely, but the lower one appears to be out of line by a couple of mm, this is because the wing has a very slight bow to it down the rear edge, placing the wing on the floor, and gently applying a little pressure to the panel will sort this out. Also notice that the reflection of the florescent light runs through the door, and carries on in the same direction as it passes through the wing, thats something you rarely get when fitting pattern parts

When the wing get its final fit, the car will be sitting on it wheels on a level floor, with the strut brace slackened off, just to make sure that the shell is under no stress  whatsoever...

I've trimmed nothing off it... interestingly though, the OE wing that the car came out the factory with, didn't fit the way it should have,
because the closing panel was welded in the wrong place, the car itself is a very late model, and pretty much all the existing panels are showing the telltale signs of worn tooling

Will be doing a build thread on this in a month or so, with the owners permission :lipsrsealed:

That top pic was taken VERY close, and door gap looks wide, in fact its a little over the width of a pound coin! the wing that this new wing is replacing, was, as I've already said, the OE factory fit wing, that also is displaying the same rounded swages, and extra radius to the rear edge, a little careful hammer and dolly work will soon have this literally better than new, I must emphasise  though that these wings are miles better than any pattern part you could ever buy, but, I'm quite fussy about how I like things to fit.
These wings could be given 4/5 coats of Hi build primer, block sanded, fitted and painted with no problem they're that good

I'm sure you can fit G60 arches as discussed elsewhere in this thread, could do with someone putting up some pics for reference of some genuine G60 wings.... anyone?
