I went yesterday; show was ok I guess  :undecided:  I don't think its worth the £20 they charge on the day mind.  The strip action was pretty good but when you see the same cars going down it 3/4 times it does get a little repetitive

Can't really compare to last year as I was in a foul mood last year for obvious reasons  :grin: :grin:  Was in a much better mood this year as i didn't break down  :laugh: :laugh:

Exactly how I felt last year.. I've said too many times on here recently, all I have to compare it with was how it was when hosted in Suffolk.  Was a decent sized show with all sorts going on , lots of traders/stands, strip, handling course, mobile rolling road etc... last year, 20 food vans not much in the stand department and the strip. After walking round looking at was parked up and watching the strip for an hour my £20 had dried up and I was bored.

Like you say, must of been great for you this year though with your car not looking like this!:

They had the handling course, mobile RR too and some traders etc etc but like you say once you've watched some of that then there's very little else to do  :undecided:

There was also a distinct lack of fit women handing out free goodies too; think I only saw 2 and 1 of them was was a 5 pinter  :laugh: :laugh:

Or indeed this

Still got the hat though  :grin: :grin:

Fastest in my class on sunday and 2nd fastest over the whole weekend for  VW mk4 2wd.
Mine = 5.5s 0-60 and 13.89s 1/4
Winner = 5.4s 0-60 and 13.80 1/4 with huge GT30 turbo and LSD.

Results > http://www.theresults.co.uk/gti_international_results.html
But on both days they added the wrong cars to the 4mk class, saturday they added a  stage2+ stripped out 2007 Ed30 in number 1 slot for the mk4s, and sunday they added an R32 Turbo which should have been in the 4wd class.

I am over the moon with the result as no one was getting good times full stop (apart from 4wd boys) traction was a nightmare I was wheel spining upto 90mph in 3rd.  I was only beat by a 2wd 1.8T golf which has 440bhp+ and a LSD,  where I only got  stock diff.  This time next year I am going to be number 1 at gti inters now I know where I lost time.

Another good one was Nick's Stage 1 R-Tech Ed30 crossing the line quicker than most of the stage2+ curpa TFSI...lol

I am going santa pod sat PM to see what see makes on a propper drag strip.

PS

Water injection FTW!!! no heat soak at all :tongue:

Nice one  :cool:

Surprised at Nick's tbh as his first run he fluffed the start yet still managed a 0-60 or 6.38  :shocked:

Having driven his car I would have said a mid 13 1/4 would be on the cards with a better launch

As Rhys says the show lacks something... For £20 there isn't actually that much there to do. The strip is good but you do get bored once you have seen the same cars going down. I thought trade stands were pretty poor to be honest.

I can remember when I went to it when it was held at Wroughton about 10 years ago it was packed. But then the internet was in dial up days then and the likes of E-bay etc were not what they are today so I guess that was how you got your bits.

Gaydon is a good venue as it has the museum on site which gives something else to do plus you can get out of the sun!  :smiley:

Had a good day but it is expensive. Fluffed my 1st run but the 2nd was much improved. It was so hot by the afternoon and the strip was closed for about an hour and a hlaf so went home before doing any more  :grin:
The day you see me in a diesel is the day there is no more petrol left :D
