considering my cat and downpipe are like 12+ years old i woudnt be suprised if there ir a hole r something in there.. as im very sure the smell has got to with my revs jumping around too.. im looking to get downpipe and de-cat done by summer so ill just hold my hopes on that.. gonna give it a service and change fuel filter next week or so tho jus rule them out

My revs have been hunting when stopping at light or when just putting it in neutral when slowing down... the revs jump up and down between 500-1000 rpm... and sometimes when i boot it the rev sticks to 1500rpm ...when im stopped..until i tap the gas then it just slowly drops to the right idle revs...

iv cleaned throttle body so aint that...

the car pulls fine and drives fine.. my mpg is also fine.. it is realyyy p!ssing me off now.. as sometimes the revs dip like the car wants to cut out but it doesnt... then it just settles... happens everytime i come to a set of lights
I know that you said you've cleaned throttle body but did you basic set it ? If not reclean and if you've got vag com try engine electrics (01) basic settings (12) and use either adaption channels 60 or 98 to basic set If you are unable to basic set possible underlieing issue with throttle body

anyone have any other ideas on what it could be?? as vagcom aint picking up nothing either  :undecided:
