Golf GTI ordering restriction: 19-inch Glendale alloys
23 May 11
0682-11
Optional 19-inch Glendale alloys cannot be ordered in conjuction with a sunroof on Golf GTI because of a weight restriction on the model's front axle.
The brochure and price list will be updated at the next reprint. Volkswagen.co.uk will be updated by the end of May.
How quaint! Knew the sunroof was a heavy useless fcuker.
Not as much as your wheels

You leave my wheels out of this young man or I'll have to take you in hand and spank you.

Now it looks good too. Miles better sounding than the over-hyped RCD/RNS 510 thingys.

Why on earth would one want a 19" ride simply mystifies me. I had a ride in one with ACC on comfort and it was not to my liking on our 'glassy' surfaced roads. Bouncy and planted it did feel, but oh so bloody tiring. And then there was the increased tyre roar. Yuck.

Will it matter am1w when you only do 3 miles a week 'around the block' to your nearest chipper!  Get yourself up to some twisty B-roads in the Highlands of Scotland mun

Mr Scotty, I am pleased that you are so informed about my driving habits.
Firstly, I am most fortunate not to live in the northern wilds where driving is more akin to paddling due to the persistent stormy weather during your summers and skiing in blizzards during your winters. I am sure your I9" wheels will go down a treat. You'll be able to ski on them right through the year with or without 4WD. How fortunate.
Secondly, it is a fact that the 'fastest' tyres on a performance Golf are 17" ones, as proved on the track by a couple of magazines. With these you might even be able to 'drive' in your inclement weather.
Thirdly, I don't do short journeys in my car. I prefer walking for purposes of fitness and keeping slim and agile much like a car with 17" or 18" wheels. You should try it though this might not always be possible in wild, rural conditions.
Lastly, I hope you enjoy your 19" as much as I enjoy my 18".
I see from the weather news that the northern wastes will, wait for it, have lots of rain. Do you possess a boat?

Lots of good country roads were i am and unlike others on here i can tell the difference between the 17s and 18s on these type roads. One of them really shows it up, a road Alfa UK use on there invertation to the owners clubs to sample the cars. I find the 18s can bump steer and also can send judders/shudders to the steeringwheel due to the tyre spending less time in contact with the road. But then again i live in England a part of England the goverment seem to think is part of Scotland  So our roads are a mess, broken up, pothholes, odd cambers old tarmac, were as Scotlands roads are probably better.

Anyway this is way off topic.

RCD510 has the same sound. RNS does not :lipsrsealed:
