Do I need Glaze?
« on: 17 April 2011, 19:36 »

Hi all, this is the stuff I put on my car, can you tell me if I need Glaze too?

Megs Gold Class Shampoo
Jetseal 109
Dodo Light Fantastic.

Of course I have clay etc but only do that once every 4 or 5 months.

Advice again is greatly appreciated.

it adds depth to the finish especially dark colours and the oils will fill swirls to a degree and also aid sealant and wax bonding,
not a must have but it will benifit you in the long run.
good ones to consider are:
PB's blackhole
CG's ez creme glaze
Britemax blackmax glaze.

Thanks mate, my car is Reflex Silver and to be honest no matter how clean it is it never 'shines' is that because it's silver? And do you think the glaze is worth it on my colour car?

Thanks again,

Jim

Thanks mate, reading the instructions it looks like it could remove the existing wax coat on the car, is this correct?

yes it will to point due to most glazes have cleansing oils in them and very very fine abrassive too which help to remove any ultra fine scratches/swirls that may remain after polishing etc.

you can get silver to shimmer and look glossy but you need to put the prep work in before hand to achieve it.

it might, not sure tbh, but if ph says so, its near as dammit gospel

but strip all the layers off and start again,

do you not use a polish? js109 is a sealant i thought?

if you do polish, glaze, seal, wax

I do use a polish yes but not all the time, I use Autoglym SRP as the paint is in great condition. I don't need any cutting ability.

Cheers,

Thanks for the advice guys, I went to Elite Car Care in Wokingham this morning and purchased:

- Snow foam lance
- 5 litre PH neutral valet pro snow foam
- Grit guard
- Rim wax
- and what I originally went there for, some Poorboys White Diamond Glaze

Love the Snow Foam
