well having had my fair share of problems and my first winter with the mkii it wasn't too bad

Yes I have been so Pissed off with the car at times to the point i've nearly put it up for sale, but then there is something about them, and I can guarantee once ive sorted what needs to be fixed and its all running right will be a awesome drivers car

MKii's unfortunately are all about the summer. . . . . oh hang on we are so nearly there!!

But as everyone has said be prepared to spend some money, but its money well spent

Don't buy on price either mate, if theres one going for £1000 dont thyink it must be crap and a 2k plus one is good, I bought one for 2k, it did have an engine conversion but 1 year later I've got a 2 holes in my floor pan and a hole just buy the boot! Only worth like £500 as it as the moment

if your going on about mk1's  you need to make some serious adjustments to them.

like cutting out the wishbones mounts and welding in a mk2 subframe to stop the frount chassi legs flexing.and fitting an LSD to G box

the a 2.0 16v mk1 is fun.
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
