How should this change from metal bodywork?

you should do this VERY carefully... I know to my expense!!  :lipsrsealed:

plastic can build up heat quicker and you can 'pull' the paint very quickly...

softer, less harsh pads, not as aggressive polishes and don't keep your polisher on the same spot or keep going over the same spot as often
