I would not use standard bolts, they are a odd shape for a reason.

normal wheel bolts will be fine, just make sure the bolt seats are correct. push a blob of blue tak into the hole and check the sape, if rounded you need ball seating, if flat you need tapered seating. VW bolts are ball seating, but probably wont be long enough by the looks of it. BMW bolts are tapered and a bit longer so may do you.

can you get a closer pic of the bolt hole though so we can say for sure either way
