Toothpaste, used it on my lights and they came up a treat. Colgate Advanced Whitening not sure if that makes a difference but it cleared up the cloudiness on one of the lenses for my xenons and eliminated the finer scratches. 
a dedicated finishing polish or the kit chris stocks is far better for the job tbh
