Hello,
Got a cheap MK2 run around while the MK1 sits in a barn. Engine is ok, after I had to replace oil seals. I notice that when the engine is running there is some pressure at the dip stik ie, when you take it out some pressure is released. Not much but I can't see why this would be, is this normal?? I checked the engine is breathing ok, the pipe from the cam cover to the throttle body for warm air is ok. Is there a filter in the cam cover for this pipe, maybe it needs replacing. (None of this stuff on a mk1).?? Oil pressure is fine, tappets quiet so its circulating ok. Are there any other breathing pipes? Also, was just wondering what the normal running temp for these is, mine shows the needle just before (just to left of) the red coolant warning light. When it gets to the light, fan comes on.
Fair does though, they are quite smooth aren't they. Very quiet aswell compared to my go-kart bone-shaker mk1, but not quite as fast. I am having to get used to having brakes as well!
Cheers
