Were the cushioned door cards an optional extra then, thought they only came in the highline VR's

All VR6 and GTI (if GTI has leather) had cushioned door cards.

Only the Colour Concept had smooth leather.

Leather was an option on GTI's did look at one once that was factory fitted.

factory fitted optional extra.
looked at the optional extra list in the rear of my 16v and it says on there (cant remember the code though)
full heated leather.
a/c
full one piece leather gear knob
and leather door cards too
