Wheel Touching Timing belt mk3 gti 16v

Hi,

Does anyone know what could be the possible faults.... when i lock my wheel or turn it keeps touching the timing belt  :shocked:

Very odd.

My guess would be the tracking has been adjusted too much on that side, so you have more lock if that makes sense.

blimey thats seriously out of whack! on mine when it was out i could touch the inner arch with the wheel.

look at your track rod ends, measure the thread visible on both sides. try to even it out if there's less thread visible on one side and see how you get on

Thing is it proper like grinding nose when u lock the wheel or when u turn to locking it n u can hear the timing belt!  :shocked:

I still think you must have major suspension or steering damage.

Is it 100% touching the cam belt or do you mean alt belt as the cambelt is behind a cover.

@ wayne it like as soon as you lock it u can hear it grinding against the belt!
