still no news from the court, im awaiting a hearing date

on the plus side i bought myself a 1.8t mk4 and i must admit, its f**kin awsome!

just want to say thanks to all who helped me suss out the last car was stolen, im sure many of you will help me with the new one

first quesion lol... my car makes a screechin noise as i start it up. its quite embarrasing lol. thhinkin it might be the starter moter
 any ideas?

yes starter motor, theres a how to guide on here. needs a strip down, gud clean with a toothbrush or something similar then a decent lashing of grease when you re-assemble everything. done mine a few months ago, wasnt as difficult as i first thought!

Alternator drive belt slipping maybe.

no itll be the starter motor, i just did mine yesterday, mind you put 2 hrs aside for the job, its a bit of a job moving everything to get at that top 18mm bolt.

once its off use mole grips to get the 2 7mm bolts started, wish i had cos the spanner just rounded them straight away. its pretty easy to fix, i just put a dab of grease on then wound it, didnt need to wipe it all down as its just grease

ide say starter motor, atleast that would be the first thing ide check as its not hard to do, bit of a chew on getting the starter motor off but once its off its pretty streight forward.

or cambelt tensioner i thiought mine was starter turn out it wasnt lol

Thanks , im going to attempt to remove the moter later, now im no mechanic ,but im determinded to fix it, everyone looked at me this morning when droppin my kids off at school, so it must be loud outside the car haha
