>random question, not really anwsering your question but, my front bushes are fine but would i feel an inprovment in handling if i bought all new polly bushes??
just to update - handling is now amazingly better - my old bushes/ball joints were screwed.  No alignment done yet due to seized tie-rod ends, VW want £600 (yes thats two zero's!!!!!) so some more work for me (£53 for parts delivered).   So I guess it depends on the state of your current bushes.

Mine also needed new fronts, worn bushes = inner and outer's bald!!

As to the difficulty of the job - nowhere near as bad as I thought - just me being a total muppet.  See my blog (http://javalins.wordpress.com/) for updates and my thoughts on the DIY from Dan Reed (which is good btw).

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
