Stripped the old handbrake and gaitor down. Comparing with new leather gaitor

New gaitor waiting to go on

The clip that clips into the console (you cant use any clip as the highline one is larger)

The bits that go into the gaitor.

The front of it. Had to shave abit of the leather of as the clip wouldnt stay in play (over lapping of the leather)

What its looking like.

Another pic of it.

Just need to staple the plastic clip on and glue it into places now.
Could i use any staple or do they got to be strong and where can i get then form?

More pics to come.
Also ordered some pressed LEGAL plates from my mate bizzle.

Good job mate,  that's exactly what i had to do with my battered old US gaiter which i then fitted onto a chrome buttoned mk3.5 Cabrio handbrake lever.

It not that hard is it? What kind of staples did you use to keep the gaitor on mate?

The staples i had were too flimsy so i ended up using some short panel pins and contact adhesive  we had in the workshop.

Got a link mate? Might make tiny holes with a hot needle and thread the gaitor in and use material spray glue aswel
