If i was to blufin and upgrade the intercooler, would it have a  detrimental effect on the dsg gearbox being limited to 350nm torque? what happens in the torque limit is over 350nm?

Was interested in this myself so i sent an email off to awesome gti and heres the response i got:

Hi Stuart,

Right first of all here are the list of modifications required to upgrade to
stage 2:

Complete exhaust system with sports-Cat or De-Cat (De-Cat is for off road
use only)
Performance air intake kit

Not NEEDED but recommended to get the most out of the engine:

Intercooler upgrade

Please let me know what you have/haven't got and I will be able to price the
bits up for you

DSG clutch

We have done a stage 3 turbo kit on a DSG equipped Mk6 and never seen an
issue after 20K of hard driving as well.

We no longer deal with APR so it will have to be the REVO tuning but to be
100% honest with you the REVO software on the newer 2.0TFSI and 2.0TSI
engines gives much better increases over APR.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Jamie, if it's similar to the new Polo GTI DSG (dry box) it has a self torque limiter :)

The MK6 has a wet clutch DSG box.

Mine is running Revo stage 2 with intake and intercooler and now has nearly 40k miles on it which includes 5 track days and 6 laps of the Ring.

It hasn't missed a beat, I would just recommend increasing the frequency of the DSG box oil changes, I do mine every 20K rather than 40k miles.

Yeah, I know :) Am just saying, if the dry box has a torque limiter in, surely the wet box does?

Well I don't know if I'm taking all this the wrong way but my stage 1 car is putting out 293 lbs ft of torque which I've calculated as 390 NM (according to google convert).

I'm running a DSG.

This would suggest that on my car there is either no torque limiter or that it is not kicking in/ has been overridden.

Or am I interpreting this all the wrong way?

Have you Dyno'd the car at all?
I don't know what the actual limits are for the wet boxes, a hell of a lot higher then the dry boxes, that's for sure.
