am sorting out parts for a service on my mk2 including a distributor cop and arm but have been asked whether its a bosch or not. how do i tell?

what sort of golf is it? gti? 8 or 16 valve?

yeah its an 8v gti but apparently there are 2 different types mate

oh right, in which case its a digifant with a bosch distributor (like mine), but if you go to any motor factors and give them the year it should come up with the right one. got there in the end!

Well that what i thought. gave them the year etc and they said it could be one of 2 but didnt have a clue on how to find out. have looked around on the site and it seems to be a sketchy topic really.

Take the old one off, if it has 'Bosch' written on it or the Bosch logo you know which one you need
