Did the welding and made up the new plates on the drive at my folks. Suffice to say it's not pretty and the neighbours love me.
Turned out ok. Continuous bead weld round the heavy gauge plates. Put it this way it's a helluv a lot stronger than it was.
It's shiny as I didn't wait for paint to dry, weather was closing in. I may well have another pop at it when the engine is out.
Put it back in for the re test and, drum roll..... It passed! Tax and MOT. Get in.
