there are 3 seals, a felt like seal between the plastic button and the tailgate, which for some reason isnt listed as a replacement part for mk3, need to buy the entire lock?

and 2 round thin washer type seals between the lock and the plastic button, and between the rear clip and the lock cylinder:
111 837 227 B - seal between lock and button - 1.55+VAT
N   900 989 01 - seal between circlip and lock - 0.71+VAT

I'll get hold of them and I'll get my girlfriend to make me a washer out of felt. She's doing fashion/clothes designer course at uni  :smiley:

Right, this is the lock without being pushed out....



And this is the lock being pushed out (as it should)



On the first pic you car see the O-ring is not sealing the lock. On the second pic, when I'm pushing it up, it seals it. I feel like there should be a spring somewhere, pushing the lock outwards...

ah, that would be the springs inside the boot button are fecked. get to the scrappy, steal a complete boot button. pop the old lock cylinder out of yours, rebuild it and swap over. need a cl one if yours is though, i believe they are different

Central locking, not CL trim.  :wink:
