Right first off this isnt my best tread, changed head gasket to find more white smoke on a long journey just dismantled it again to find the cylinder head has corroded extremely close to the piston and hence the white smoke, so shall I scrap her or take a hammer to th blighted thing, aghhh

Depends on what it is. If 8v I'd say yeah chuck it in the bin.. If 16v I'd say repair it or abf it.

Ignore the valver gimp, if its a solid car it'd be worth fixing your existing lump or just sourcing another one be it 8v 16v or other.
