steam coming out of heater vents

some advice i have steam coming out of my heater vents but if i put the heater on full speed it clears but if the the heater is turned off and then restarted it does it again    would this be the  :angry:  :undecided:

Scuttle drain holes may be blocked causing it to fill up with water. The water will then be coming in through the heater air inlet and being blown out as steam.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Mine did this and was the heater matrix. I think when the fan was on it heated the window enough not to mist up, but when it wasn't steam would come out (well more a mist than kettle steam).

+1  Sounds like heater matrix to me, Water leaks into heater box from the burst matrix causing the steam.

Mk2 is easier than a mk3 from what I have read.

Be sure to throw away the bypass valves from the heater matrix feed and retuen pipes, you wont need them with the new matrix. I  think details are in the 'how to' in the maintinance section, its a good guide.
