I used to charge around £35, but its just not really worth my time as i make less than £10 one each one so i dont think I'll bother anymore.  the ebay ones mostly look like they used the cheapest bits they could find unfortunately.

This is what mine look like:

Rj do you not rate the 1 that x4mgs does? Like he says they look alrite, nice terminations and connectors, copex, decent relays etc.. Has anyone used these ones? Or others that do main and dipped that come recommended??

problem with that is it only has 2 relays, so if it does dipped and main that means only 1 fuse/relay for both sides. if either goes you loose all the lights! mine i use 3 relays so 1 per side for dip and 1 more for main.

pics are also really tiny so you cant tell if the bits he has used are any good, looks like convoluted tubing over the top which I'm not really a fan of looks a bit crap imo. not that it will effect the loom in any way

Go on then rj- show us how its done... Ill give you the 35quid...or have you seen the clubgti 1's in the flesh? I'm an electrician myself so I should be making one and over rating the cable, but I just havent got time/cant be bothered in my own time.. However I dont want to buy something sh!te that I could make better myself, hence lookin for some feedback on the different ones available before I commit...

Had I Known that RJ made his own I would have bought one....

But I didn't so I bought what came recomended on an ED38 Thread...

I can now see the point of the 3 relays... and this would one step more than the one I bought plus RJ has the extra cost of the relay, housing and fuse to build into his costs...

aye its not that cheap making your own, working in a motor factors i get my bits at cost and it was still about £20 for all the bits. plus that was with 2 relays (1 dipped, 1 main) and not using relay holders  :undecided:

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I brought an uprated loom for my last mk3 but never got round to fitting it. After seeing this thread Ive now just realised i should dig it and attempt fitting it to my current mk3, the thing is I bloody hate doing electrics and am very hesitant in butchering my working loom. :embarassed:

My mk3, sorry yeah I know this is a mk2 thread but was intrigued into it seeing how it was done as it should be very similar to what i need to know.

After a bit of scratching around through my old ebay transactions ive uncovered what i purchased a couple of years ago and luckily the guy is still selling the same items which is obviously a good thing. Im going to email him for the orginal instructions again but a proper 'how to..' would be superb if anybody knows of one?
