This made me lol. The ONLY way you can verify the mileage on a mk2 or ANY car for that matter is by a FSH or seeing every MOT since new. Anyone who has an ounce of common sense should be able to spot one thats done 100k more than the clocks claim, theres so many signs.

Even then I wouldn't trust it!

I bought one with low mileage and FSH only to discover on my way home the odometer worked intermittenly so was probably only recording less than half the real real milage for who knows how long. The MoT certs and FSH all matched up though!  :rolleyes:

It doesn't matter which car it is..it doesn't matter if its 30 years old or 1 year old....the only way you will ever know is if you bought the car from new yourself. I'm sure everyone or most people on here can stop the mileage from totting up...even if they don't know they are doing it. A simple lazy attitude to a speedo cable repair is one way to avoid mileage. Treat every car you buy as having double the miles...that way you wont be disappointed.
