Injector cleaner
« on: 18 January 2011, 18:17 »
Hey guys,

I have recently had to replace the coolant temperature sensor in my mk4 gti turbo after the engine management light came on and I read the fault code.  Since replacing it I have noticed that the engine seems noisier than before (when still) and also it idles hgiher when 1st starting up.  It did previously idle slightly higher when cold starting but this now seems to happen if the car is warm and the engine has only been off for a couple of minutes.

I was wondering if when the sensor wasn't working the fuel mix wouldn't have been right and the injectors etc could be blocked up.  Is it worth using injector cleaner and has anyone else used this and really noticed a difference?  Also which one do people find works best as I've heard bad things about Redex?

Cheers,

Joe

nah - I don't think this happens.  But if you want to the Forte stuff doesn't do any harm - not convinced it does anything significant either though.

Has it had a good run since?

James

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

I've taken it out on some national speed limit roads but not particularly long runs. I guess I probably need to take out on the motorway for a bit
