HOW MANY TYPES OF REAR CALLIPERS WERE FITTED TO THE GOLF MK 3,,,,,MY CAR IS A 1997 GTI ABF,,,,,CHEERS.

2 types, early ones have an external handbrake spring which are the same as post 87 MK2 Golf, late ones did away with the spring and were less prone to siezing. the changeover was quite early on in production, 94ish iirc

mid 95.... my M plate built April 95 had the early one's, and my other a July 95 had the late type (the early also had oblong side repeaters and 280mm discs unlike the later car...)
