Mr Polly - you're correct, we write about building materials from aggregates, sand and gravel to concrete and limestone. As well as quarries, we keep our readers up to date with the latest plant and equipment used in the industry, eg Caterpillar dumptrucks, Komatsu excavators, JCB machinery, asphalt plants, crushing and screening equipment, hydraulic breakers etc.

MAW, if you want a copy of the mag, I'll send you our latest issue cos it - excuse the pun - ROCKS!

On the roads if anyone has seen lorries bearing the following company names: Tarmac, CEMEX, Hanson, Lafarge, Aggregate Industries/Bardon - well, they're the main quarry operators in the UK, so they're pretty much responsible for supplying the materials used in our work buildings, your home, driveway etc.

A tomato procurer? You must get to travel to Spain and Italy which in my book has got to be better than being a teacher like me.
By the way the older kids at school (the ones who know anything about cars) were well impressed when I first got the GTi. They're not fussed now cos I've had it 18 months but for a day or two I was "cool"!!!!!

Get a fair bit of travelling but its really not very glamorous, though I do see some interesting places along the way.
