Alloy Wheel Refurb (Find the materials cheaper)
« on: 09 January 2011, 10:25 »
So my bro and his mate (Lewis1641) have decided to set up there own alloy wheel lip polishing and smart repair. As i use to do it for a living and they have asked me to do the work for them, plus i use to have exactly the same machine

They have bought a Bradley wheel repair machine mk1 same as the one below:

Now yesturday they asked me to do a set of wheels to see if it all worked ok, so i have put the photos up below to show you the befores and the afters:
Before:

After:

As you can i was happy with the end result , these wheels had some very bad water act under the laquer, which really stood out considering the wheels where 8.5" wide ot the front and 10" wide at the back.

Anyway the really reason i am asking for some advice is that i use to be able to get hold of the materials (grinding disc, buffers, polishing blocks etc etc) really cheap but the place i use to get them from has closed down and so i am only getting them from Bradleys which is a total rip off. I have tried to find them somewhere else but cant seem to find the rite ones.

Can anyone who might be in this sort of business or sells this sort of stuff let me know where to buy it from cheaper them Bradleys. For example Bradleys sell a Fine (thin) griding disc for £40 but the fines ones done last that long.

Cheers Guys
