All this talk of non vag engines is just plain silly.

Why?

Because you are looking at A) major work and B) a right ballache to get it finished and on the road.

Major changes to the shell means it is not easy to get the car back on the road.

Too funny.

Did you pick up Golf+ this month? It had a big spread on engine conversions in there - 1.8T, R32, 2.0TFSI etc. Might help you with your decision.

Lets be honest for a second or 2, to get a 2.0 TSFI in and working is beyond a diy job plus you need to find a doner car and I would suspect by the time it is finished you will have knocked a hole in £5k +
