ajustable drop links

been looking at a set of jamex coil overs for my 1.8t agu. the ones for the tdi are sent with these links so you can drop more than 40mm. do i need these???

you'll have trouble over 40-50mm with ant roll bar, to be honest its a bit hit and miss, ive had 4 mk4's, 2 didnt need em running 50mm the other 2 i couldnt go lower than 40mm with rubbing, they do wear out fast, so a search mate theres loads of stuff on here

I have coilovers with the adjustable droplinks. Down about 60mm, was about 80.

Now question i have which will probably help you was, everyone said, wind these adjustable ones in as small as possible, take washers out, and wind in more to get short as possible, thats what ive done but..

they are still longer than the metal un-adjustable ones i took off, wouldnt they have been better being shorter?

the idea is to move the arb up and out of the way so when you drop the car the arb is further away to stop it laying ontop of the shaft, hence longer links

If i legnthened i found the actual ends for the ARB where droplinks bolted too were catching DS

Still not sure mines right

i coould never run mine without adjust links, getting upgraded arb soon, sounds like yours have issues!!!!

Its ok now, doesnt catch atall, but they are wound right in. 

Only problem i have now is tyre scrubbing on arch

go smaller tyre and stretch em!!

your shortening the drop link to get the antiroll bar lower so it doesnt hit the driveshaft

if your going really low then you should be able to wind the drop link as long as it goes and put the arb over the driveshaft, i know you can buy arb's with a longer loop

99% sure my ARB was already over the DS, and i know for sure it is now?
