It's been a month so thought i'd give this a bump as there has been more progress.

Click

A question has been raised on the Manifold setups asking if any calculations have been made due to the way that both manifolds join into one just before the two turbos.  Question has not been anawered although it is an interesting question on an interesting setup for a twin turbo, I've always seen one turbo per manifold on V engines????

The exhaust isnt too big a problem other than the way they have gone from 2 big volumes down to 1 small volume at the join and the way they have taken the wategate feeds off and fed them back into the system when they could easily have eased the flow path but...... That intercooler design is fookin horrible in every way imaginable. Itd be funny to see them do a pressure drop test across that as its really bloody horrendous.

Im still not impressed by this at all, its just throwing money at a project in areas that would be better being considered more carefully but I suppose thats what happens when moronic customers just throw money at you. As for the quality of the fab work, any half decent bodyshop could turn it out, I dont see what the big deal is??

right... i have had a very good read of the thread linked... and I am not really a fan

1. I don't like the way his fantastic mk1 was stripped down from the 16v turbo that he had... it was pointless... he could have got another mk1 shell and used that and sold his original mk1 complete. that way two mk1's would be on the road.

2. the intercooler made me lose interest and I just thought it was some bloke chucking a shed load of money at it... while custom bodyshop work is amazing to look at I find homebrew work far more impressive and inspiring.

sorry but there you go, will it be shiny and lovely and fast? yes. will it impress me as much as some of the work I see by the punters on here? No.

Your first point is a very good one actually...I did really like what he had originally.  I think this is a fantastic project but you have got me thinking now about why he chose to chop up a perfectly good car.  It would have made more sense to do this to a rotton golf as the skills are there and most of the car is being chopped up anayway.

Your second point must mean that in your eyes my golf is better than his.
