My GTD yesterday bottomed at 4.3mpg on average. Doh!!!!
I wouldn't say average the average is memory 2 its more like actual memory 1.

Mine was showing 8mpg after I drove off this morning thats the lowest I've ever seen it but I was moving. It will normally show 17mpg when you reading first shows.

I've just read you're link http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=153115.0

Golf GTD Whirr

The whirr that I am complaining to VW about. Clunk is going into gear and whir returns when pedal lifted. They think its normal.

No thats not normal there is something wrong with that which is worse than my

Clutch pedal pulsating/vibrating

Clutch pedal pulsating/vibrating 2

which they say is normal.

Similar experience for me, but I was moving. Due to the snow, motorway last night was crawling. Was doing a steady 40mph used almost double the petrol I normally do doing the exact same journey. crazy.

i think i'm about one third a tank left and the odometer said i'd done about 190 miles or something. i can usually get that mileage on around half a tank comfortably. i guess having the heaters at full blast and just driving more slowly with less efficiency just adds up.

Sorry I meant the average of Computer 1 was showing 4.3mpg and no lower, whilst sitting in straffic.  for that Journey.  VW will do nothing about any clunks whirrs until it falls off.  I have just ignored it for now, no worse in 11,000 miles.

I'm aware that I won't get good economy whilst sat still, but I don't expect to use near quarter of a tank in about 15 minutes having only moved about a mile if that.

Just an observation more than a rant, to see if anyone else gets the same experience.

Mate if your cars using a tankful if you sit at idle for an hour you must have a leak?

Ajmoir: As Doc says, you must have a leak. I've never been as low as 4.3 mpg. I think you've broken a record.

Everybody (dealer and VWCS), wrote two letters of complaint to VWCS, got told to get lost basically they dont care.
