I think I'll just fit 2... the drivers front and passenger rear.  That'll throw a scanner in all the theories!

I didn't think about the spare - its a tiny thin space saver, so it should be pretty good in the snow anyway!

Use one winter on the front, one on the back, spare also on the rear to maintain the handling.
And buy another spare to replace the spare.

My next task is to get a set of VW center badges for them.  Any ideas where I can get these?  I don't know if they'd be the same size as the ones out of my current wheels or Monza's or something.  Its a possibility though since they're VAG wheels.

The other option is the standard 52ish mm 'small' VAG centre cap...but I think that's just on the 5x100mm wheels.
Fairly sure the standard VW centres will fit.

Glen - did you get yours powdercoated by PPS at Inverurie?  A guy at work had his Fiesta ST ones done there and they removed all his kerb dings and re-finished them in black for £35 per wheel.

I tend to take them in cleaned up with a file/sander to get rid of the worst of the mess...and I think I'm normally £45 for a 18" wheel.
The price depends on the size.
I think I paid £40 each for some Mk3 GTI wheels in metallic sparkle silver for Mothers new Fabia winter wheels, just last month.
My 18" BBS were £45 per wheel.

I'll wait until I get the wheels so I can measure the current badges.  I asked the chap selling them to measure them, but he said they looked like a different fitment to VW ones. 
I think we maybe get a discount at PPS as we use them with work on a regular basis.
