Having said that, if I won the lottery I'd possibly buy a blue R as a runabout!

For Gawd's sake luv, set your sights a bit higher.

The way VW prices are going it's going to take a lottery win just to buy one at retail price.
I did say it would be the runabout, Sunday best would be something with less seats and an engine about double the size.......

5 door.
"The machine of my dreams"

Beautiful.
My next car will be black or metallic black. Easiest paint to match according to the bodyshop. With my tendency for rear enders, I have to consider this seriously.
I have lost all confidence in your body shop. I find Black a pain in the ass to paint as theres a huge amount of prep and it shows any defect at all.
What size tyres are on the polo i bet they are still wide. Prob 195's a stupid size for a shopping cart.

Having said that, if I won the lottery I'd possibly buy a blue R as a runabout!

Its funny but if i had millions i would not be buying any of the new cars out there. I have the 6 already lol. I would add a 1990 Audi ur-quattro 20V (my other dream car), Maybe an impreza P1 for winter use and thats about it. So only around 20-25K worth! Maybe a quick fling with a couple of Alfas/Lancias i always fancied but nothing more. Supercars don't interest me been in some and i just know i would not use them. I would spend the money rebuilding my workshop/garage to 4 times it size, replace all the gear and tools, make the place look like an operating theatre and tinker in there to get them to concours condition.

Swedish car makers and Sweden always managed with two wheel drive the difference is they know how to drive, use the correct tyres/snow socks/chain when need be.

Me too. I love our house but the one drawback is that it only has a 1.5x size garage on it. I would dearly love to extend it to just 2 or 2.5x.

Hello. I'm back from a snooze!

Snoops:
The Polo has 15" wheels. However, the treads look a bit worn. I haven't checked the tyre size. But will do when I have the courage to nip out.

Regarding the bodyshop, I have lost some confidence in them, though I am sure they will get the paintwork perfect before I collect the car. I am too busy tomorrow and Tuesday, so I'll collect on Wednesday morning.

Exonian, Snoops, Hartside:
As for my ideal car if I won the lottery: A female chauffeur driven Rolls Royce Phantom and a male chauffeur driven Porsche Panemera. Both cars in black, with solid gold ornamentation and the 'dressed' chauffeurs in white. As for my attire, I'll go all native. I'll leave this to your imagination. Thus I'll have more money than sense.

I'd hereby like to announce my (potential) application for your (male) Chauffeurs position. Although I'd demand a privacy screen so I didn't have to listen to your incessant prattling!!! Oh, I'd even wear white, just for you, and I'd try not to get too much curry sauce on my white slim fitting trousers. And I wouldn't mind a Golf R as a company car. I would ask for an RS3 but you don't like A3s so I'll settle for a poxy Golf.
I'll submit my CV (so that it can line your bin) as soon as your 6 numbers come up.......

LMFAO

You've got the job and as I'll be your master, we won't be indulging in any prattling.
Just call me Sir or Master.
You can have an RS3, as long as it is in black and I never have to see the ugly toad.
For this luxurious extra, you'll also have to be my butler and dresser.

Now, applications for the female chauffeur position please, before closing date 24-12-2010.
Your wife perhaps? Same perks and job description.

As my wife isn't home at the moment to argue with me, I'd like to submit her application on her behalf. I'd advise you to invest in some front and rear parking aids and maybe tie a couple of mattresses to each wheel of the car owing to her unhealthy habit of shaving aluminium rims at regular intervals. My lightweight wheels on my little Ibiza are even lighter now on one side!
I think my wife would be a far better butler than me, as she's far less accident prone and not as lazy as me. But I'll happily fill in when necessary.
I also think she'd be better qualified as your dresser as I have no dress sense other than Levis and polo shirts, and my fingers are a bit fat so my hands may get stuck down the front or back of your trousers when zipping you or tucking you in.
Any other round the house jobs are also well within my capabilities, dusting, hoovering, watching your TV, laying on your bed when you're out and even mowing your lawn on nice days.
However for more complicated occasional jobs I'd advise you to employ someone more technically adept as wiring a plug is about my limit.

I am grateful for your prompt and honest reply.
I am so pleased you are the sort of individuals who would keep me entertained and cared for during my dotage. I am sure having a husband and wife team to tender to my needs will turn me into a much more understanding person.
I will pay you both handsomely but make one request. Please don't kiss each other in front of me.
This would bring back very unhappy memories and might expedite me being re-admitted to the psychiatric ward of the local 'private' hospital.
There is one bit of information that you might find useful. I am wheelchair bound, have a colostomy bag and weigh approximately 25 stone. Will this be a problem?
