Jeez - that's a long wait mate.  I ordered mine a couple of weeks earlier in mid-sept and have had it for over 3 weeks now.  I couldn't wait that long I would have to say.  :undecided:

WILLS,

I put my order in back in October (VAT protected and free svs with pcp finance), recently had my build week and looking at april (2011!),

definitely consider the ACC on 18s for the option to have a smooth ride when needed, maybe drop the leather can't really see the need myself and then get some more extras.

as for where to buy you can try reputable brokers (carfile i went with) or main dealer would be evo.

Wow   that is a long time, why such a long time any ideas? I was thinking around the 4 month mark was the current waiting times?
Going into the stealers tomorrow to see what they can come up with deal wise.

Black
DSG trans
Monza alloys
standard cloth seats (not so sure on vw's leather)
RCD 510 stereo

I've just sold my GTI after nearly 18 months' ownership, so will try to be objective:

- I love the idea of automatic gearboxes, i.e. not having to change gear yourself. I've had the DSG on 2 VWs now and have been disappointed on both occasions. It's good, but not nearly as good as the press makes out. It's jerky around town, too slow in Drive and too aggressive in Sport. Not a patch on the latest 'proper' autos from the likes of BMW.

- Can't really avoid Monzas, but for what it's worth, I think they're really ugly and swapped them for a set of VW Interlagos.

- avoid VW leather - rubbish quality, only covers 1/3 of the seats anyway (rest is PVC), it's freezing cold in winter and boiling hot in the summer, and requires looking after.
