Exhaust system now fitted

Immobiliser reset and with the car unlocked the system doesn't seem to rearm itself. I've been using just the key for the last couple of days and it unlocks and starts fine. I've now put the alarm fob in the ash tray.........just in case it is ever needed.

Few very minor bits to do now and it's ready  Still no logbook, according to the DVLA website that can take up to six weeks  MOT will almost certainly be next Saturday 5th Feb, with or without logbook

Thanks, can't wait to start driving it tbh.

I think the logbook is taking a while because they will have had to contact the previous owner/keeper before issuing the replacement to me.

Got the car booked in for its MOT tomorrow.............but............

I fitted the replacement washer pump yesterday and to make life easier I removed the battery. I used my jump start pack to keep 12volts on the car but somehow it must have lost its connection as the clock and everything reset.........including the bloody immobiliser. I have now tried resetting it about a dozen times as carried out successfully before and it just will not extinguish the left side indicator lights

Looks like I'm going to have to cancel the MOT. It had been working fine just using the key up until then too

Anyone know if there is a wire somewhere that I can pull to stop the indicator lights staying on? I'm running out of ideas and time!

Taken from the first link I posted about this issue.

"I had a similar problem. The alarm was working but no matter what I did the indicators would not go out. I found a couple of fuses and relay close to the alarm unit that make the indicators flash. I just pulled the fuses so the indicators went out. They still work off the storks as normal as does the alarm."

Most alarm systems use a seperate relay for the lights (they do not use the cars indicator flasher unit) I still think that if this is the case with your setup then the relay is faulty.  Try and locate it and pull it out.

Yes, did reread that link after posting above. Panic now over

I traced the clicking noise to a position above the glovebox, below the airbag.
I removed the glovebox and lo and behold:-

The heart of the unit. I pulled the 7.5Amp fuse opposite to the one that you see fitted and they went off.

Everything now works and its ready. Just going to arrange temporary insurance cover and its ready to go for its MOT.

STILL NO LOGBOOK by the way  I tried to work out when I posted the application, I reckon it was between Christmas and New Year when I decided I was going to make the purchase. Must be getting very close to the full 6 weeks now

Shame about logbook, glad you've found the brain and the fuses... can you see a loose relay anywhere nearby?

Put it back together now. Decided to quit whilst I'm ahead with it all working. Quite happy to rely on the key for now.
