It's MOT'd and insured. Would just need to pop down the post office and get a tax disc but I'd rather not use it at this time of the year.

Polo is doing us proud for the moment and hopefully I'll have a better idea as to the nature of the problem tomorrow and can make a decision then.....

Put the G12+ in today along with the K-Seal and ran it for about half an hour in the drive. All good, everything does as advertised

Also, thanks again to 'dom069' for the alarm/immobiliser instructions. I carried out item 3 of the 'Resynchronisation of the remote control' and all seems to be working as expected now.

Going to chuck the VR6 back on the drive tomorrow and check it over Pre-MOT. I have the replacement washer pump to fit and I discovered that one of the rear seat belts is jammed fully extended so a few bits to do prior to the MOT. Hopefully not too much more.

Looking hopeful for being used on the road by the beginning of February

That's great news, nice fast turn around if all goes well.

Pre MOT checks carried out and all looks good apart from the exhaust. Got her up in the air today so that I could have a really good look around:-

The cat to centre section exhaust coupling didn't have any bolts in and was free to move around and blow
I have some replacement bolts so that was an easy fix, however.........

The rear box is still original and the forward part of it, forward of the subframe is cracked and blowing. I've decided to bite the bullet and have ordered the two replacement exhaust parts that replace the one part that goes over the subframe. Should be ready for picking up on Monday along with associated couplings and hangers.

Now a couple of questions:-

Both sides appear to have a cap missing along the length of the sill trim as can be seen in the photo above. Am I right and is it something that I should be able to find and replace easily :undecided:

There is a disconnected connector in the engine bay that I can't find a home for, is it meant to be disconnected?:-

I might try posting that question in the Mk3 section too.
Oh and immobiliser is playing up again and log book still hasn't appeared yet
Any ideas on disabling the immobiliser completely?

Getting there... Shame about the alarm.. There must be a way of disabling though as many make way for after market systems.. I'd be nervous driving driving it with it playing silly beggars!

how long has it been since you applied for the log book?

The central locking and arming/disarming of the immobiliser works fine. Its just the indicators staying illuminated on the left side and the windows going down that I want stopped. Probably better to just kill the whole thing and use the key. I'd just set the bloody clock too. Battery is now disconnected and I'll go through the same reset procedure tomorrow. If that works I'll try just using the key there-on and leave the fob in the glove-box just in case the immobiliser does play silly buggers.

I'm at work at the moment but I did check my bank statement and the cheque was presented on the 13th January. I believe they have to leave it two weeks after contacting the previous owner to allow time for a reply so I guess that is what I'm waiting for.
