am i being optimistic

i have had mark 3 and 4 golfs for years but want to go back to the classic golfs, either mk 1 or 2. i want to find one that is as close to standard as possible so definately no wide wheels or body kits for me.

am i being realistic? will i find a clean almost standard car that is reliable?

Yes you will, I've seen plenty. But be prepared to pay for it.......the good one's don't come cheap.

I've got a 1985 8V, Mk11 (one of the first). New cambelt,exhaust,recent alternator,heater matrix,gear shift, rear wiper motor, appx 10 months MOT, Pirelli Slot Alloys, no modifications at all.
