Change of topic, slightly , now that you are all on this thread!

Bought today from VW: (1) Screenwash for £3.38, (2) Coolant for £8.42 (I did not need it)

Good value I thought.

Sorry guys, I got myself in tangles...! PHEW!!!

Though, Asker £3 is good for screenwash. I live in the sticks now and this costs me at least £3.50 !

The VW stuff is good. Does what it says on the tin bottle.

So much better than the rubbish Halfords screen wash which claims to work down to -12 but freezes at -3.

if the GTIs were 4WD i don't think i would mind so much, hot hatches are supposed to be mostly 2WD aren't they....
it's nice of you to say they are an icon, but i think only the mk1 and mk2 are the real icons, at least at the moment. the mk6 needs a few more years (probably at least 10!) before you could say it's an icon.

even if the current crop of Golfs turn out to be icons in the future, they all have the mk5 GTI to thank for it, it revived VW into being a big player in the hot hatch market.

I agree that the mk5 was awesome. I miss her, but she had to go

My mk 5 was brilliant too.

I might still have her/him/it if it wasn't for the leather.

The mk6 is better in every department but has the mk5 to thank for the heritage.

Golf R is a winner everyday of the week over GTI... hate to say it but its true.

I also dont buy into this boll0x that the GTI is more fun... I know for a fact it is not.
