What if you'd left a dog in the car, in warm weather?

Rolfe.

Whoops. Sorry Rolfe forgot about the dog. Can't even use the key to lock the car! Bad design.

^ I wonder if the alarm deactivation button inside the door or turning off the deadlock (2 clicks) would stop the windows closing? Assuming that auto close could be set, for situations such as leaving the dog in the car.

At least golfgti5 can communicate in English which is a foriegn language to him.
Can any of you read, write or speak Dutch?
100% to you golfgti5 for trying and keep posting.

Back to topic: My front windows did this once when the car was new. It never happened again.

I was in no way having a pop, all credit to him, hence the smiley after my post.

I dont think there is any need for more speculation, its a know fault from the older model and other VW cars. They should be able to sort you out.

To top it off.... my passenger door was frozen shut when I went out just now!
My fiancee had to climb over my seat to get in (I made her take her shoes off!).
We went driving for a while to try and warm the car up.  She couldn't get out and had to climb over my seat again.  2 minutes later, it just opened without a problem!

I wonder if the snow has got inside the door somehow?
It is -1.5 degrees C outside just now... but I wouldn't have thought the door should ever stick at that sort of temperature.
Could be ice between the rubber seal and the door frame if there is the slightest gap inbetween. Is the door perfectly aligned? Or a frozen lock. :undecided:
I usually put a thin coat on the rubber seals of good old vaseline or WD40. Have never had it happen since. But then again I live in sunny London. Will hit minus 4 degrees C tonight in West London, according to the weather forecast.
