Khare also said an 8v on decent shocks will beat a 16v on the track.

No, he actually said "a good handling 8v with decent brakes will outperform a standard 16v around the track." Yes it is Andres but that doesn't make it a fact!

Good handling and Mk3 don't really go well together.

It would cost no more or less to upgrade the suspension and brakes on the 16v then it would to the 8v. Cost + performance is greater with the 16v

Khare says a lot of things! Mostly rubbish!
Like his 8v would be more powerful than my 16v! Until JKM in Porstmouth! Since then he kept his mouth shut!

No, because that would mean the handling of the 8v would be modified. For the exact same cost you could do that to a 16v which would make it out perform a modified 8v.

why are you argueing with me? I just pointed out what Khare said. And that was pointed out earlier. You referred to khare having an 16valver over an 8v, I referred to him saying about an an 8v with good handling and decent brakes(ie not standard) would beat a standard 16v round the track. And thats presicesly what he said, So you aint making sense.

I was on about TORQUE Len. And remember the result? Oh yeah, I beat you and your exhaust system, remap and filter combo, with my standard, unserviced 8v at the time

Again my superiority was demonstrated at Rtech's RR day, 138ft-lb

What I mean is a standard 8v will loose against a standard 16v, but an 8v with chassis modifications (suspension, ARBs, brakes) will outhandle a 16v, and over a lap make up time over the 16v, unless that lap is of the indianapolis track....

Yes for the same cost you could do a 16v, that that would be a modified 8v, but the OP hasn't got a 16v so he wouldn't be able to afford a 16v AND chassis upgrades.

Of course a lot depends on who's driving and weather conditions.
