You've got a point there, Snoops. The steel will get even thinner, the paint even thinner with less paint everywhere. They might even establish a new trend of offering cars in undercoat. No need to vinyl wrap for a matt finish. A really smart move IMO. NOT!

I am not really a lover of Ford cars, but having seen the pic on the front of Autoexpress of that new Focus coupe in electric blue, I think I have fallen head over heels.

I know that those are just photoshops and all that, and agree with others that it looks very nice but it just looks like another facelift of the mk5.

I've not seen the new Capri pictures yet but wasn't impressed with the pictures I did see of the forthcoming Focus, basking shark springs to mind.

Sorry to veer off the thread topic, but there is one thing I didn't really get about Ford.
They build powerful European cars such as the Focus ST, RS etc, but in the states their Ford models have larger engines but not a lot of BHP/performance etc.
Why is that?

Just a different market. The US traditionally likes its torquey big capacity low-revving understressed engines. You'd also be surpised how many new US cars still have 1960's-style suspension.

Yeah, take the new Jetta as an example, in Europe it has the indie rear suspension like the Golf and Passat, but stateside they're knocking them out with low rent interiors and beam suspension like on mk1 Golfs. Yet they're all built in the same Mexican factory.
