SH&T Fog lights,
« on: 13 November 2010, 17:40 »
Ok just wired my front fog lights up, Found original plug under header tank as they were wired 2 a stupid button by leccie window buttons,
Just tried them in the dark an they dim the main beam and the whole set up gives less light out than just having main beam on its own,

So did you test what voltages came off the plug? Maybe its time to just rewire some relays and find a signal wire to the fogs and get actual 12V through them?

I used to have them on the relay system, Because my car is a 1988 model, I added big bumpers ,
So i found the fog light plug an wired it through that 2day,
So i suppose i could use that plug as the switch and go back 2 the relays,

Yeah you know the better cable and higher voltages is the only way to get decent lights fella!

Its a sad fact 9V was bling back then like flares just in todays driving conditions you are better off re wiring the loom to decent relays instead of the fuse box! I had to put Audi TT zenons into my Rallye for the exact same reasons and I love OEM, but like my life more  :lipsrsealed:

so its normal for the light looms to get just 9v then? my H4 plugs were getting 9v but i thought it was unsually low

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Well yeah "but not as we know it Jim" Most bulbs are rated 12V-55w-60w and would love to see at least 11V for brighteness.... The loom and relay on the fuse box (10amps) just can't produce the juice! If the bulbs say 9V then thats what its rated i.e side lights, because I don't want to see light housings being melted
