« on: 05 November 2010, 15:15 »
hi all,    newb on here.

i have just been offered a 1992 mk2 golf NOT a gti though a ,1600 cc, body work needs 2 new sills but not a problem as i work with a professional welder. rest of the car ok just failed the MOT on that but not bad for free!!

im thinking of putting a 16v gti lump in (as i really wanted a 16v gti but cant afford one at the moment!!!)

anything i should know before taking the project on???

also after doing a quick internet search cant seam to find a 16v gti engine are they really hard to come by?

p.s sarcasm is my best friend

i was toying with the idea of a 20v turbo lump instead but would this be too much power as i will have to drive it now and again from the midlands to work in portsmouth.

Good for you. The starting point for any good Golf is a good shell.

All the rest is plug and play.
