those are very nice plans,
With the exhaust manifold, are you gonna make 2 manifolds? 3 pipes per turbo?
Or otherwise?

Hello, been a while
Timberland, yes I will be running 1 turbo per 3 cylinders but it wont be happening until the end of the summer now, my wedding is at the end of May so need to get that out of the way before I tackle this project
I will be running 2 x K03 turbo's with twin side mounted intercoolers, i will be relocating the washer bottle to the opposite side of the bay (mk4 bottle) and running a cone filter a lal F17BAD.
The intercooler pipework is going to be fun to get looking right as I'm keeping the existing VR throttle body and intake/plenum, Im not going to use an aftermarket short intake, pipework aside, I want to keep the bay looking as oem as possible.

I have been busy over the last couple of weeks tho getting little bits an bats sorted

Pic heavy update to follow

Here goes

Took my splits off for the winter and decided I was bored of the red so set about stripping them

The joys of being an engineer

Snapped one of the titanium bolts when splitting

Gone for a satin steel type look for the rim, no paint but not quite polished

Had to drill out the smapped bolt and damaged the thread in the rim so came up with the idea of re-tapping bigger and making a bolt

Machined the head of a standard high tensile hex head bolt

Got myself a 2.9 intake for the princely sum of £10.50

Along with a spare throttle body for £5.00 which I boshed straight on the machine to port

Port matched the OBD2 throttle body to the OBD1 2.9 intake,

However, the holes to mount them together are in different places so I set about making an adapter/spacer plate

Had to mark up the intake for the new holes

Drilled

Tapped

And plate fitted, used some super dooper gasket seal shizzle I had lying around

And the throttle body fitted

BEAUTIFUL

The VR broke on me too the other night, coolant hose split clean in 2 pissing coolant all over my bay
Had to get recoverd and ordered my new hose
Old

New

Fitting my new brakes, sorting a couple of rust patches, painting and fitting my new intake, all this weekend hopefully

Aaah, nearly forget

Rare to see a hose go like that.

I had one blow in a similar fashion but that was caused by a faulty head gasket pressurising the system.

that's very common place for that coolant hose to rupture.
I've personally changed every coolant hose for the black Samco's
The hoses on a vr6 will having a hard time.

BUT i LOVE the machinework!!
Very nice work mate
