Doc:

I hope you don't have a fit with the fit and finish of your GTD.

I had to:
(1) Rehang all my doors 3 months after I had the car. They seemed to have moved!
(2) Had the rear bumper replaced as it was distorted in the number plate area. Got VW to pay for it after 105 letters and finally a letter to the MD of VW UK.

Apart from the above, the car is very good, no rattles and very comfortable. However, I have crappy Bridgestone tyres which I will be changing shortly.

Had lots of problems with my first Mk5 R32 but my 2nd was perfect

That's what I thought when I got mine........ and after the initial excitement, I noticed that the bonnet was mis-aligned from new, the 4 doors moved after 1000 miles and had to be re-hung,  and the rear bumper got more and more distorted in the number plate area.
Now all fixed and fine.
Oh ....you'll love the ease of chipping of the bonnet and front bumper! Got mine re-sprayed after a minor prang. Now these are fine too!
However, it is a wonderful car overall and I love it to bits.

Thanks fella, I so NEED XENONS but I'm happy to not have the self level etc just plug 'em in if its poss as I like the bending lights but I can live without them, but I'd like to be able to adjust the beam.
Ok rather that the over priced full Bi-Xenons have you thoughts about the Volkswagen-Xenon-Lights-Kit-by-Philips with their installation Video:wink:

Nah, there sh1t

Another vote for these being sh1t compared to factory xenons. And bloody expensive at that. You an but a quailty kit for £50-£60, but even then they should never be fitted into reflector headlamps. Anyone for light scatter?

Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I agree 100% to all the above.

Hemifocal lenses and xenons ONLY thanks ;-)
